Went walking with dancer at the stadium. Brought the 5DMKII along and a 17-40mm f4 lens. I have to admit I've only been using the camera for video and the D3X for stills. I can see why the 5D was so popular for landscapes. I'll start shooting with it more since I've had some time to learn the controls. All these pics were aperture priority at f5.6 some basic adjustments in LR 2.
I've read up on some really nice DIY shoulder rigs for the 5DMKII. Some costing upwards of two grand. Of course I can't find the parts to make a rail system based on cinema standards. At least not without having some parts machined. I think the toughest bits to acquire are the mounting blocks. I decided to see what was laying around the house and this is what I came up with. It's a shoulder pad from a camera stabilizer system that just looked ridiculous. I adapted just that part to a flash rail and some bits of bicycle handles and finished it off in flat black. The camera plate is from a manfrotto monopod. The total cost was 25 bucks.
Every Sunday dog owners from Phnom Penh bring their beasts to Gasolina so they can socialize and run around with other beasts. The dogs can do this too.
